From the first time I saw Stages Bocks, I knew they belonged in a Timberdoodle curriculum. Vibrantly colored, solid wood blocks provide children with problem-solving situations, develop their spatial sense, and increase their motor planning abilities. But as teaching parents, we wanted more. What if we could combine the independent learning, free play, and imagination of block play with an introduction to pattern interpretation? Stages: Blocks does that and more.
Using the 40 small, custom-designed blocks and 120 picture cards, your child will progress from structures that use only 1 block to those that utilize all 40 blocks. The more elaborate designs will require focus, thought, and careful stacking, color, shape, and perspective skills. And if you need even more ideas, there is also a free, one-of-a-kind Stages: Blocks app for iPhones and iPads. What a great way to sharpen focus and build necessary skills at the same time!
Note: Stages Blocks come in a magnetic-closure cardboard box. Regrettably, these lovely boxes do not always hold up well and frequently dent or tear during shipment.
